New release of version 8 available
The July 19 release of version 8 is now available for download from the partner and customer section of our website. The 8.0.5.14307 release contains additional features over the previous release including global prompt button configuration from within rules.

Special offer to upgrade liteclient
looksoftware’s multichannel support allows multiple audiences to access core applications from multiple devices. Most of our customers have deployed smartclients and an increasing number will also be deploying AJAX based thinclients or mobileclients for PDA’s. We are investing significantly in these channels and encourage all liteclient customers to contact us to discuss upgrading to smartclient.

Accessing CAB files for web deployment
When setting up for web deployment, please make sure you are not directly linking back to the CAB files hosted by looksoftware.com e.g. www.looksoftware.com/cab80/

The CAB files located on our website are made available with every new release with the intention that you copy and host these CABs yourself along with the CAB containing your customizations.

The CAB files we provide are updated for every new release of our software, therefore linking back to our website will result in the deployment of new product updates to your production users without the benefit of testing prior to deployment. Furthermore, our web site may not be available from time to time, thereby affecting any deployments linking back to it.

Plan ahead for license requests
Host-based licenses are CPU serial number specific. If you are planning to upgrade your host system, swap to a new host or use a disaster recovery host, then you will need new license codes. Be sure to request new codes well in advance of the change, by obtaining the new CPU serial number and providing that to your reseller or directly to looksoftware licensing at license@looksoftware.com
