bullet Important Changes to the looksoftware Product Suite top

The current looksoftware developer product suite incorporates newlook, centric and soarchitect. From 1st April however, newlook will be extended to include all the functionality of centric, and centric will no longer be available for sale.

This change is a reflection of the changing landscape in modernization. The requirement for integration has become standard in front-end modernization, with an increasing proportion of customers requiring centric’s RPC, web services, scripting and database access features. Given our strategic belief in simplifying complex technologies and solutions, the decision to integrate newlook and centric functionality into an upgraded newlook package was an easy one.

newlook customers who upgrade to the centric level of functionality, prior to June 30, 2010 will not incur any license upgrade fee. They will have ongoing access to the increased functionality for the cost of a marginal increase in annual maintenance, which is due to adjusting the licensee fee for the upgraded newlook product to the current price of centric. The 18% annual maintenance fee is not affected.

newlook customers who do not wish to take advantage of this upgrade offer, may continue using the current version of newlook, however please that support will be dropped at the end of 2011, at which time they will need to upgrade to the revised newlook product.

At next month’s Orlando conference we will be announcing and demonstrating new features and new products that provide IBM i customers and partners a long term path forward that supports both RPG and .net technologies.

The live demo includes service enabling existing IBM core applications and real customer experiences.

"looksoftware has allowed us to save hundreds of hours of development time and more importantly, thousands of dollars of expensive consulting effort to port existing, time-tested iSeries functionality over to the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform. With soarchitect, we can leave this already-working business logic intact on our System i and simply use web services to exchange data as needed with our new Dynamics AX system…” - George Hamin, Director of eBusiness & Information Systems, Subaru.

Subaru service-enabled their i back-end to integrate with Microsoft’s Dynamix and SharePoint.

"soarchitect’s ability to rapidly expose reusable services from our BPCS back-end ERP means we can define workflows that integrate our disparate applications". Jeffrey Tan Abbott Laboratories
