NewVision wins 300 customers in 8 months

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (ACS) selected the looksoftware 'Dynamic Environment' to modernize its ageing suite of iSeries applications after struggling with batch based alternatives. Some four months after joining the looksoftware Partner program, ACS released its NewVision product! Eight months later some 300 customers had upgraded to NewVision, representing over 90% of its customer base.

Implementation

The modernization project took 14 applications with an inconsistent green screen look and feel, and delivered a browser-based UI with a common graphical scheme, and consistent navigation. However, NewVision wasn't just a refacing project - it also included integration with desktop and web-based applications, context sensitive Help and other new functionality that made it easy for customers to justify the decision to invest in NewVision.

The project was jointly resourced by ACS and looksoftware and included some 7000 host screens.

Path Forward
The next phase in the plan is the modernization of some Property Tax applications, which is now underway - another joint ACS looksoftware project.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (ACS) sold NewVision to approximately 90% of their 350 strong client base after joining the looksoftware Partner program. Congratulations ACS - a fantastic achievement!
