Use Display Settings to change the way Newlook scales elements on the form, set a background image for all forms in your application and customize menu icons for your project.
Use Scaling Settings to specify the Scaling type used globally in Newlook's generated forms. In addition, these settings may be used to force the aspect ratio of the fonts used within your solution. By default a font's scaling will be dictated by the available space for any given form size. In some instances an irregular form size may result in a font that appears thinner.

Description |
Stretch |
(Default) This type of scaling ensures that controls are re-sized to fit the available form size. With this type of scaling you can also choose to enable the option to maintain the default aspect ratio of fonts. |
Zoom |
Zoom scaling is similar to stretch scaling, but differs in that the optimal control dimensions are chosen to fit the available form size while still maintaining the font's native aspect ratio. Using this mode you can be confident the correct aspect ratio of fonts will be used, but you may end up with unused space on the form. |
Fixed |
Fixed scaling turns off dynamic scaling and will size controls based predominantly on the global font size chosen for the given field type. Fixed scaling also allows you to choose a scaling factor, similar to that employed within Newlook Server. |
Setting |
Description |
Maintain default font aspect ratio on 24x80 screens |
Maintains the default aspect ratio of fonts on 24x80 screens. This affects the font size selected to fit within the physical control's dimensions after the physical control dimensions have been chosen for the given form size. |
Maintain default font aspect ratio on 27x132 screens |
Maintains the default aspect ratio of fonts on 27x132 screens. This affects the font size selected to fit within the physical control's dimensions after the physical control dimensions have been chosen for the given form size. |
Although turning on the option to maintain the font aspect ratio will result in a font with a specific height and width ratio, it does not apply to the dynamic scaling employed to the control sizes. Turning on these options could result in text being wrapped/clipped which will be most evident on 27x132 screens.
Use Background Settings to customize the look and feel of the default background displayed in the Newlook interface.
